The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning Janie, I'll have to try it and let you know. I'm also going to have to keep an eye on DH, he seems to have taken a liking to my lap blanket. He has one exactly like it (different color) but his is in the basement storage so mine is handier (maybe too handy).

How's your flock doing with the cold, are all ok?
Good morning, Debby, have a wonderful Wednesday. My flock is weathering the cold pretty well. We have about 6 more freezing nights but daytime highs in the 40s to 60s so we will all enjoy some sunshine.

Good morning. I am not accustomed to single digit temperatures. :barnie We have slowly been clearing the snow. Got the Princess's car out yesterday. Today we will free up my truck.
E🎶since you've no place to go, take it slow, take it slow, take it slow🎶

Hi Janie. No, thank goodness! It got up to 10* today but still negative windchills. I think our kids will be in for recess all week.
I shoveled the sidewalk and front porch when I got home. It was not too bad with the sun shining. It felt good to do some manual labor.

Hi Debby, thanks!

Hi Rene. He was a stinker yesterday. I had to message the boss and have him come and have a little chat. I know he was tired, but sometimes he needs a reminder that he is not the boss. Most of the day was good today. He had a couple melt downs in the afternoon.
Good morning, again, DMC. I hope you, and the little one, have a better day today.

Morning Janie, blue skies help a little bit, glad the flock is doing ok.

I'd whine too....lol

Continuity is so important, if he still needs you, I hope they have sense enough to realize that and keep him in your care.
Good morning, Rene.
I agree.
I’ve lived in Minnesota my whole life. I’m used to it, but will still whine.😆
Thank you, Rene. I will truly miss this child when I don’t have him anymore. I hope they will keep me with him through 4th grade…if he still needs me. He has come a long way this year.

I wonder what his home life is like? I hope he has a good support system.
I owned a small daycare when my own kids were small. Some of my kids got government funded tuition and meals. There were 5 brothers from 3 to 7 that attended one year. After meeting their parents I felt so sorry for them. I got very attached to them. One of the oldest boys told another child that they better eat all their lunch because they "might not eat again today". A few months later their parents got in trouble for selling their food stamps. Their father and grandfather both ended up in prison for armed robbery and drugs. I have no idea what happened to the kids. They would be late 30s to early 40s now.
