Happy for this day..the last 3 of drs. Ugh.

He's a funny guy, quiet, but very funny!

I have a son like that. Quiet, with a dry with. It may take a second to catch it..then...the..LOL

I had a foster child for a little while. She was 15 when she came to live with me. She was a few years older than my youngest son. It did not work out. I felt very guilty for giving up on her, but she was at a point where she needed to help/change herself a little and she wasn't willing. My son might have been in trouble if he had spent too much time with her. (She crawled into bed with him one morning and that was the last straw.)
She was very bad about stealing and shop lifting, doing drugs and other inappropriate behavior. She wouldn't work with me, her counselors, or her teachers. I spent a lot of time going to meetings.
Her mother was dying of liver failure. I met her through work and that's how I came to take her in. Her mom was a prostitute and drug addicted.
I wish her mother had given her up when she was younger. Last I heard of the teen, she had three children before she was 20. She kept in touch with my daughter for a while but mostly to ask for money. I hope her children are better off.

My son and daughter in law that live here with their two have said they either want to foster or adopt down the road.

It's stories like that, that make a person realize they are fortunate to have what they have.

We as children ..us 5 kids, had a food problem once my mother divorced my step-dad. We moved from the east to out west here. Yes, we were hungry a lot of times. I looked forward to that free lunch, which was free because I helped by serving it. You would be surprised how many kids are going hungry right here in our country. We had a lot of kids serving lunch. Thankful we could.

That reminds me of the one time I made mac & cheese from scratch. My boys wouldn't touch it...nothing but the store bought stuff in the blue box with the powdered cheese would do.

And why not? It's good stuff.

He will only eat Campbells Vegetable Beef.
I can’t figure out why kids like the boxed stuff. I think it tastes like cardboard.

To each his own.
Yes, my grandkids like it. I don't mind it once in a while.

Dale doesn't say much. When he does, it's really well thought out (unlike me...lol) or it's something funny. People are always surprised at his sense of humor, they just don't expect it.
