we use a hot iron,its the quickest and they quickly get over it if done right. we are trying to do more poll though. and not all anjmals can hande anesthesia,ie goats.

there are so many things wrong here. not every farm has sows in "cruel confinement," many might, but not everyone does. this is like saying just because I play a game or watch a movie with violence, I'm going to go beat somebody up.
I agree with Miss heny about dehorning, as not all animals can be put to sleep with it. (last I checked, you cant just skip down to WalMart and pick up anesthesia.)

I'm not saying every place that produces pig products is a cruelty jam. Or that dehorning is always painful. And maybe your right, I haven't worked out the hard details yet.
 
I'm not a vegetarian or vegan. I'm a full on carnivore. But the meat my family eats is for the most partraised on our ranch. Our pigs have the whole back woods of our property to eat grass and scratch there hearts out in. And our larger livestock are polled.
