The Non-Chicken Hatch-A-Long

I put four eggs on lockdown today... it's a couple days early, but the last chick tried to hatched a couple days early, and I don't want to have that surprise again!
What day do yours normally hatch on? Fingers crossed for you and hope to see some pictures, soon!

Mine usually hatch on the 28th or 29th of incubation, but this is the first time I've used this new cabinet incubator. I hatched before in a still-air incubator, and I ran this one a little warmer than that (100 instead of 99.5) at first. I turned it down to 99.5 when my first egg pipped at day 25... So I'm hoping that will give them a slightly longer and more appropriate time in the egg.

I ask because eggs here, even the eggs I set under hens, usually hatch in 26-27 days. Rare for me to see one go 28 days. Not trying to make a point, was just curious as to what is normal for you (or anyone else).

Could probably be a lot of things making up the difference! I've only ever hatched shipped eggs, and the earliest i had anything hatched was 27 days... though i suspect that my little still-air incubator was running at an inaccurate temperature, maybe it was colder than it should have been

But this new beast of an incubator is doing its job like a pro :D Very steady temps, very steady humidity, very predictable turning, great air circulation. Not surprised the chicks are eager to get here!

Just call me the meddler... Had one that didn't sound quite right, so I decided to take a peak at around midnight.

Not sure what malposition one would call this. Anyone know?
