What happened with mine was that I had more than one virus protection program installed and they were fighting each other and that allowed a trojan to get by both of them.

I'll just add that if you go to any Staples or Geek Squad, or whatever, they have programs that they simply hook your computer to and it looks for viruses or worms and such. It doesn't take a a super geek or anything, just some good geeky customer service.
