the "not-so-bad" Blue Wheaten Ameraucana Hatch of 2010

Here are some of Peachicks birds mixed in with some others. A lot of them hatched and all of them made it to lockdown. I did not have any clear ones from her.

Here is a pic

Here is the link to my thread of the hatch with more pics. I'm not trying to hijack the thread but Mahonri is the one that recommended Peachick to me...

Mahonri,

Thanks for refering me to the source!! The fertility was fantastic and the hatch rate was great. The chicks look fantastic to date and I'm hoping for some really nice birds....

69 still viable???? What in the world are you gonna do with 69 chicks?

Hmmm, my guess is .... 62 chicks!

Now you start pacing the floor, listening carefully (any peeping?), and looking intently into the bator constantly ! ! ! Flashlight with extra batteries ready? Keep the Motrin handy, as it works well for those bator induced backaches!

72% for mostly shipped eggs is pretty good!

Now that Kathy is here to hold my hand I may make it through the next 4 days.

I'll get the brooder, feeders, waterers, light etc.. out Tuesday at lunch or tomorrow evening.

Like I said, I'm guessing I'll get 50. My son says I'll get 60.

If I have the same percentage hatch at lockdown as last time thats... 58 chicks.

Oh, and my family room computer has no way to get my pictures from my camera, it's ancient and my laptop is DOWN.

Can you imagine me doing this hatch without pics!

I'll take them and post them in May sometime.

I am putting my eggs into lockdow in a few! We can hatch together I will post my stats once I candle. I have decided I am just going to check humidity twice a day and make sure not to open the bator other then for putting water in because I have a problem. The best hatch I have had was when I was away and my Dad was in charge of humidity he enjoyed watching them but wouldn't open the bator so they went undisturbed.
