Just at the start of day 20 at 4PM today.

1st pip, BWA X Salmon Faverolle. Tiny egg, but it's a chirping in there.

2nd pip not 20 minutes later, a beautiful BLUE egg from Peachick.

WAHOO!

Thanks Kathy, I pray they will progress. I can't hear either one chirping anymore and the pips look no different than they did four hours ago.

Seems like last hatch, I had two out by the start of day 21 and it wasn't until day 22 that all heck broke loose, so I'll continue to check humidity and try and be patient.

I have Wednesday off so I hope that's the day they go wild and all pop out.

When we were candling, I noted that many of the air cells were much larger than last hatch. I guess I really need to calibrate the hygrometers.

At present I have 3 in the hovabator. one says 73% one says 65% and one says 58%.

I'm going with the new one that says 65%. AND the average of the three of them is 65% so hopefully we are good.

I wrote Mahonri yesterday to ask how the eggs were doing.
So with my coffee this morning I just finished reading 16 pages of posts

I have a couple dozen wheaten chicks here that I am taking to the WV swap.
My buddy and neighbor Will Morrow (Whitmore Farms) was here yesterday testing my birds.
We talked about my blue egg color.... I thought maybe the soil here had some impact on my egg color, but hes not getting eggs this rich looking, and only lives a few miles away.... so I dunno the reason.

First two pips are OUT and all fluffy! While I slept from 2 AM to 5AM... at 2 AM neither had even started to zip!

They both look identical but the BWA X Salmon Faverolle has feathers on the feet from what I can see through the window. Also the one from Peachick/Kat's egg is HUGE!!
