The Not So Secret Society of Chicken Keepers

My flock:

Hazel:
Hazel is a chocolate orpington (3yrs old) who is the smallest of our flock. She likes fish, and kidney, and cuddles. She is also the top of the pecking order, and loves jumping up places for some reason

Ash:
Ash is the biggest of our flock, and is a black orpington. She loves to eat eggs and yogurt (not together lol). She is the wisest, and talks to us (aka has arguments with me). She is also like a mother to the gold laced, who love to sit and preen with her

Willow:
Willow is the biggest fluffball ever, and is adorably cute. Shes a buff orpington, and loves cuddles. Shes besties with Holly, but also bullies her…
She is totally not my favourite:)

Holly:
Holly is the perfect, sweet chicken of the flock. She is pecked at a lot by everyone else though :(
She acts kinda like a mother to willow, tidbitting her, and putting her wing over her, preening her etc. she looked after willow when willow got ill, and never leaves her side : ) she is a role-model to the goldlaced, because shes so perfect lol

Juniper:
Juniper gets bullied a lot, but shes still ambitious to get to the top of the pecking order (even fighting ash sometimes). She doesn’t like fuss, unlike the others, and would rather be on her own (but since aspen died she likes being around ash more). She goes broody everytime she lays an egg, and pecks at us a lot lol

Aspen:
Aspen died of canker in august :(
She is my adorable little sunshine baby
She never liked fuss or cuddles, but she would come over and sit around me a lot. She loved food, and became a little bit overweight cause she ate so much lol
She has a wonky comb, becuase when running away from her egg she layed, she jumped up and cut herself on some wire. Her and Ash are basically mother and daughter. Whenever and wherever ash went, aspen followed. Becuase aspen hates eggs (she had multiple prolpasses because she layed too large eggs) she used to lay them in the coop next to ash.
And she likes shoes and lids lol

Beautiful girls!
I'm so sorry about Aspen! I actually had to put down one of my sussex girls because of canker too, it's a nasty thing 😔:hugs

On my way to get them, please make sure you have some blue reds for me too 😌
Hahahaha! I don't have any blue reds right now.

I though about only keeping the Tracy Hill male ( pictured above ) and selling his 2 brothers and turn a profit, but they'll be of much better use to me crossing over my Blue red hen, and BB golden. Haha
