The Nuzzler laid 2 shell less eggs and other egg material today.

Ughh! The amoxicillin is not getting any easier when Nuz now knows it is coming and wants no part of it.

I found this mold that I bought years ago and never used. It is silicone and for epoxy or resin jewelry making.

I mixed the capsule contents right into the square, triangle and diamond with the smallest amount of coconut oil possible and chilled. Those are easiest to cut into approximately equal halves.
I will only be using just the diamond now because the shape when halved is easier to administer and not as tall in the mold, making it thinner.
I just feel like too much coconut oil melting in the area by her trachea risks aspiration so the less the better.

I only had the 500mg capsules because it made sense for what I was using it for before. More bang for the buck too...
250 would be easier for chickens for sure! The stuff is getting hard to find now too. 😭

I think Nuz laid a very light colored 44g egg yesterday. When I was leaving for work, she was at the nest box making the sounds she does when she wants to lay. Upon coming home, there was Red's predictable brown egg and the light one. It had to be hers because Dove's eggs have a little hurricane symbol on the small end even if they are similar in color. Nuz laid a normal Nuz egg today, but with a lot of fuss and a little bit of poop on it. I was about to go see what was up with her when I realized she just laid it. A bit larger than yesterday's at 51g and lime green.

Nuz won't even accept a grape from me or my daughter now because of the pillings.😭

I know amoxicillin tastes and smells bad but I never adulterated her food or treats. I hope she comes to trust us again after this. She doesn't run away or anything, just shakes her head and wipes her beak like the offering is nasty.

It is hard enough because she is second to last in the pecking order and will freeze up because she is afraid Red, the first, will come barging in on our treat interaction as she does. Red can not be ignored or denied... We usually used lap time for a chance to get treats in peace but it is now pill time and I hate it. Can't wait until this is over with.

I will do the full course because I suspect that half assed antibiotic dosing because one seems to be better could contribute to evolution of antibiotic resistance. She seems to be tolerating it well and feeling much better other than hating the pill forcings. Just a bit of messy poops, but not all poops.
