The Obscession Grows - My Second Batch of Chicks

I picked up the 10 that hatched over Valentines day with Ms Lewis Rich. These are all fathered by Hoss and my girls.

Out of the following eggs came these guys, she hatched 3 EE, 1 BO, 1 LB, 1 GLW, 1 SLW, 1 BA and 2 BR's. SOme of them it is easy to tell who came from which mama, but a few are confusing.

Thanks.

I set each baby up on a container and snap away. All the baby pictures are taken with a Nikon D40 camera and the pictures of Hoss and Dougie were taken with a Nikon D50.

I love digital cameras, you can take hundreds of pictures and only print the best.

I use the Nikon D50 too. but any camera with a little zoom and good lighting you can still achieve good pics. my secret is to lay on the floor with camera at eye level with chicks. these were taken in my bathroom, i put a space heater in the tub and got it all warmed up and let them run around on the floor.

Here are some more pictures from the 21st.

One of the little EE's died. I think it was the one that Ms Lewis Rich said had alot of slime on it when it hatched. It had a hard time breathing and only lasted a few days. Anyone ever have that occur?

Beautiful babies!! Bad thing about the 1st batch, and then the 2nd batch, and then the 3rd batch, until it turn into so many batches you lose track!!
