The odor is getting bad

The odor in the run is getting strong. I had sand down on bare ground and the poo and the rain have turned it a dark brown. What do you all recommend for a remedy, don't want the neighbors to complain.

I'd throw on some wood chips, cut grass, pine shavings, etc. The sand method over ground needs to be cleaned constantly like a cat litter box to my knowledge. We intentional didn't do sand because of that, we used bare ground instead. We add weeds pulled from the yard, grass clippings, wood chips, and occasionally some pine shavings from inside the coop to the run. Also you may want to consider whether you have enough ventilation as this can increase the smell factor.

I use a rake to work the poop into the ground. Depending on how hard your ground is you may need to use a tiller and loosen the ground first. Of course adding some type of mulch (leaves, grass clippings) helps keep the soil workable.
