The OEGB Discussion Thread

@Yard Farmer @MysteryChicken what kinds of OEGBs do y'all keep?
I keep Silver Duckwings, Black Breasted Red, White, Blue Red, Black Breasted Golden, and soon to be Black.

I did decide to go a different route with my bantam's though.
Instead of breeding for multiple generations, I'm going to sell a lot of my current breeders and use the money to purchase proven show lines, and strictly work those.

Oooh I like the sound of that! Have you ever kept Lemon-Blue OEGBs? I'm considering getting some for fair.
Haha, thanks! Kind of a blessing in disguise I reckon. I never would've seen good in losing most of my flock.

I do have a lemon blue hen! She's very nice, I just need to find a brown red cock with good breast lacing to breed her to.

I would say go for it, they're such a fun color to work, not to mention you can get beautiful sports off of them!

Oooh thank you for the advice! I'm thinking I might get some more this summer and breed them. If you end up breeding the lemon blue with the brown red I'd love to see pictures of the offspring!! :love
You're most welcome!
One really cool thing with the Lemons, is your breed them to brown red to get pure lemon blues AND brown reds. It's a 50/50 split on color.

Lemon blue X Lemon blue = 50% Lemon blue, 25% brown red, and 25% sport

Lemon blue X Brown red = 50% Lemon blue, 50% Brown red.

Brown red X Lemon blue sport = 100% Lemon blue

Sport X Sport = 100% Sports

Brown red X Brown red = 100% Brown red

*To my understanding, I could be wrong.*
