The Old Folks Home

I want to put solid tops over the runs
Half of my run has a solid roof, the other is just tarped (for now). So glad I did that last summer.

I'm in the Mississippi flyway, and HPAI has been found in Kentucky and Indiana. We're on a river, and hear/see geese just about every day. My neighbor's run does not have a roof, and I'm a little worried for her.

As someone said, it is possible for a bird flying overhead to poop into your run. It is probably more likely (weasel words, but they fit) that pathogens come in on tire treads, and shoes.

We get flocks of thousands of birds going through since we are on the Atlantic Flyway. So the sooner i get the runs covered, the happier i will be.
We are on the Mississippi flyway here. It was strange yesterday, the birds were flying to the west and south west out of the east which would be where the Big Muddy is. But they weren't flying north.

Makes me wonder if they were trying to get to some warmer waters to wait out the storm before proceeding on.

Talking temps? Today was great. Finally got snow off and on all into the afternoon. And, supposed to get more on, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday! .. Bruce ..set out some millet for the robins! Get that stuff you put in a cage to hang in trees, only lay it on the ground, maybe on top of a board or something.
