The Old Folks Home

I have a couple brewerys near me, Cooperstown Brewery (beer with balls) And Ommegang Belgian style ale. I always figured their spent grain was already taken, I read in a newspaper once that one of them put in a silo for their spent grain for animal feed. But I guess it wouldnt hurt to ask, I'll have to give them a call.
I hope you can get some from them on a regular basis!

SCG, sorry that your chick didn't make it, but I'm happy you didn't prolong the inevitable.

DK, by the way, have you calibrated your hygrometer?

I'm not that familiar with cockerspaniels, but some still use them for hunting. I'm guessing there's a similar divide as with labradors, and many other breeds, you've got the ones that are bred for looks, and the ones that are bred for utility.

If I were to take this girl to a show she'd probably be disqualified, but she does okay in hunting trials, and loves to go hunting for birds.

such a schmush face.... Love the expression

The beer? Not on a regular basis $$. I drink cheap and my homebrew mostly. I don't use enough grain to make much feed, mainly malt and some grain, couple pounds. Cooperstown beer is all baseball themed, mainly pale ales, very good if you like bitter which I do. Ommegang Belgian is a more strong sour wine like beer, it's awesome! Their making some for the HBO series Game Of Thrones right now that's very goods. They cave age one of their beers in Howes Caverns for a year. They also have quit a few open air concerts at their brewery, some for benefits like Hospice. Their brewery looks kinda like a Midevil castle, or stone barn.

I wonder, I live close to a winery. Would grape skins/seeds be good for chickens? Never considered that.
i looked up grape pommace, including skins - fresh

grape pommace's biggest problem is digestability nothing on chickens but some stuff on ruminants

Winery pomace including stalks has little value in animal feeding. Its chemical composition is similar to other types of winery pomace, but the digestibility of fibre is much lower and its nutritive value is comparable to that of straw.
Winery pomace from stalked grapes has been fed to dairy cows in amounts up to 6.5 kg a day. When supplemented with concentrates and legume hay, it proved to be a good feed. At this level of inclusion the milk yield tends to drop and the butterfat content increases. Larger amounts cause inflammation of the mucosa in the digestive system.
