The Old Folks Home

good luck I think my GLW might actually be ready for eggs. She is in the box every single time I go in there to collect even after she has laid her egg in the morning. I just need to decide where to move her so the chicks will be safe when they get hatch. Such a weird layout, I don't really have room to put a crate in there.

if it gets to 6.3C you may need to institute cooling measures

whispering quietly to the peeps on TOFH thread so maybe SCG won't hear this

It's supposed to be 64 on Saturday and 69 on Sunday here. SSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

It was 58 here today and I required air conditioning in the car to survive. The window down was not enough.

The suet feeder has also been completely unearthed. Unsnowed, technically.

We are still supposed to get some snow this weekend and then again on Tuesday.

Started at 33 at 6. It's 73 right now. Had to remove all the clothing layers.
I have too many projects. I'm kicking myself for not starting brassicas before this. They could have gone in today.
Tomatoes need to be started now.

Right now I'm taking an e-mail check break from replacing the lid to one of the nest boxes. Paint failed on the old one and it rotted. I'm topping it with green HDPE sheet this time that matches the building. I've been piling things on top of it to keep the raccoons out.

We HAD spring, we even went through break-up. The rhubarb was starting to sprout, the driveway was getting squishy and even completely sucked in a car tire..... , IT WAS SPRING I TELL YOU!

But now we have snow... and it is cold... and we have to break the ice in the waterers at least twice a day.

We had mud today. Real, live, boot sucking mud. It was fabulous. I'd love to see the tire-sucking mud.

How come you don't do heated waterers? We run extension cords out to everyone so we don't have to break it up.
