Hi all. I have been lurking for a while, and though it seems a lot of you are still just kids, or at least more the ages of my kids, I will jump in, if it is ok.

I have geese and ducks and a few chickens. The waterfowl are my favorites.

I do have a question. I am using a "smart" phone and struggling to learn it. Live where there is almost no signal so need to use wifi when in town. I hear so many cautions about that. Any pointers for safey?

:frow  kssunflower     Welcome to the old folks home - some of us are actually OLD,  I don't think your kids are as old as I am (67 and climbing)  :old

Well not quite. The oldest is 54 and a granny. Opps that makes me a great granny.

Umm, where do you get those great emotion thingys?

Good Luck scg! keep us posted!

Thanks. I think the scales are just raised because she has swollen feet and that's dirt under them, but I'm going to treat her anyway and the rest of the flock, too. There's a couple in there with leg scales that aren't smooth, but it doesn't look like the pictures of scaly leg mites that I've seen. I think it's just dry nasty skin from the winter but not sure. Just picked up a Pam 2-pack at Sam's for tomorrow morning. Can't wait to treat 50 birds.

Al, the roo mounting won't necessarily do any damage. Our Sussex hen got most of her feathers on her back pulled out earlier, and though she's a favorite of the roo, he has yet to break the skin once.

That toolbar on the bottom is pretty handy.

It seems we have a broody. If she's still sitting on her golf balls on Monday, some lovely green eggs are going under her.
