Hi SCG!

This last snow we sent your way just missed us to the south again, whew! Sorry you are getting it but can actually see the ground here in most places. No thawing because we are still way below freezing yet at night, but any time I want to complain I just pop up a pic or two taken at this time last year when we still had several feet of snow.

We talked to a logger yesterday about logging out the back forty (literally) and we got some good news. Prices have went up since the last time we tried. Talked to the same logger 3 years ago and signed a 2 year agreement but the weather was so bad that winter and the next that he was never able to get to us. (We are mostly low ground in the back acreage and if the snow gets deep, the ground doesn't freeze and won't support the equipment) Could have gotten it done this past winter, but it completely slipped our minds to contact anyone in the fall because of my accident. We have been so dry this year that it might even be possible to get it done after "mud" season. I hope so. Hate the thought of all the noise and mess but the money will mean a new roof for the house and some new heavy insulated windows that Pa has had his eye on for the big windows in the kitchen and bedroom (they cost over a $1000 a piece). And......he says I get whatever is left over to do whatever I want! Hmmmm, expand the greenhouse? finally a cover for the run? MY BABY GOATS!!!!

And this time of year I also Just say NO to Snow! Although it's a lot harder to make that work out.
