the leghorns will surely help with egg production.
Have you thought about crossing native chickens with "broilers" or a cornish x

There is a huge push for both native pigs and chickens.

Its great that the government is trying to support the venture.

As its a landrace breed its great to try and perserve it.

Ours are also sex linked. The females look buff columban and the males look duck wing

I have tried adding New Hampshire to them and they still maintain the sex link features. I have a breeding project to incorporate NH, Bisaya, a barred breed and a secret ingredient lol. Hopefully we will end up with a nice tasting, decent size, reasonable egg laying heterosis.

The leghorn is a domimant white bird so just about anything crossed to it will throw white chicks

There are numerous "game bird" breeds in the Phils. Asil from India, Sweaters, Hatch, Kelso and so many more

The roosters a prized, the hens are often thrown into the landrace.

Diva, you do have a point... but clearly you haven't been paying enough attention to my posts... I've been saying the snow's gone for weeks now, and then I go and post a video of dog skiing, so me being away from home was pretty obvious, wasn't it?
