My pantry is almost empty, have to wait until Thursday to get any groceries. I made crock pot soup from leftovers and freezer stuff and dried beans today and dang it all.... I wanted bread to go with it. I located one lone packet of yeast. I started sifting through what was left in the pantry.
I had a 1/2 cup of bread flour.
1 cup of whole wheat flour
little over a cup and a half of self rising flour
garlic
marjoram
basil
oregano
2 store bought eggs
a tiny bit of milk left, why do men do that anyway... leave just a tiny bit
a little bit of olive oil
out of all sugar stuffs so used a bit of a ham glaze packet instead

tossed it all in the bread machine and prayed it would mix well.....
Pulled it out of the machine and prayed it would rise......

It's baking now.........

Hoping it will be edible

For women to bake bread with, silly!

WOW, You talk about scrounging around for ingredients to make your bread!! I'm sure it will be delish since it is home made. Do let us know how it turned out.

It's a nice dense herb bread, made 2 loaves. Very good, hubby loves it but the whole wheat flour covers up the egg bread flavor I like so much, not complaining though. Smelled wonderful while cooking

It will be good sliced real thin and baked a bit for garlic bread points

I am so going to make egg bread after I get shopping done. May even make some rice or whole grain bread this weekend too. My whole grain is regular bread flour dough with steamed whole grains added. Right now I'm loving the rice, millet, barley, quinoa combo.... goes great with beef stew if it's cooked like muffins. Dang it...... I'm getting hungry again
