I have 3 males, one is assertive and confident, another is quite the gentleman but no sissy, the other is an Italian (ironically name Rocky after the boxing movie) who was getting beat up by the hens and was 0/4 on a fertility test (other boys 100 percent). I just rearranged pens so he was away from the mean hen and wasn’t with any birds I wanted fertile eggs from. He got beat up again by another group of hens! I did vent sex him just in case, and it was kind of hard to tell, he’s obviously not laying eggs but little foam or swelling. He’s nine weeks old so should be sexually mature (crows and mounts females for a couple weeks now). He’s a nice bird and the son’s current buddy otherwise I’d cull him. Right now he’s keeping company with a beat up hen (male grabbed above her eye, pulled her out for a day and looked fine then the other hens pecked at it until it was bleeding and made a mess, had to be the white hen!). My Italian Stallion seems to be a gelding! Anybody else ever have experience with a did male, especially getting beat up by girls?
