I have 3 lobe peircing in each ear, I plan on a bunch more in my ears, a nostril, and maybe a belly button. I love peircings

My number one piece of advice for a cartilage piercing is to use A HOLLOW NEEDLE. My nostril was less painful than my helix, which was done with a handheld device. It hurt more initially, and hurt to barely touch for weeks. It also healed weird with a bulge on the back of my ear. My nose was my best and easiest piercing experience. A needle makes a difference.

I had my nostril done in the 80s when piercing weren't really a popular thing beyond lobes.
At that time here anyways there was no place that did piercings. I had it done at a boutique place in the city with an ear piercing gun.

Ya I was warned it was a bad idea. I had to sweet talk the lady and then she made me sign a waiver.
I'm pretty sure I was bulletproof back then so.....

Has anyone pierced their own cartilage? I've done my own lobes, eyebrow, and lip but I'm not so sure about doing cartilage. I'd really only do helix and flats, I'll leave the hard to reach places for a professional.

Hey past me! I did it
Pierced my helix twice in a row and didn't even realize the needle was in my cartilage til about halfway through the piercing
It's been three weeks and so far no swelling, it's a little bit annoying when my hair catches on it or it gets bumped by my hoodie or pillow but it's only as painful as bumping a bruise not really a sharp or long lasting pain.

I plan on doing at least 7 more cartilage piercings because I love them so much

Also the helix piercings are still doing so good. They never swell and don't hurt more than a bruise when I bump them. I can't wait to downsize the bar though because the long one is really annoying.

I had to kinda repeirce my third lobes, which lend to a bit of an infection but I got it taken care of and we were healing up great. Pain was gone even when I bump. Yesterday they started hurting a bit again ugh

Aw man that sucks. My third lobes are also not fully healed even after 11mos, I think the piercing is right next to cartilage so it's constantly irritated.
What type of jewelry do you have in it?

My lip piercing has had a bump since July 18th. It's tiny now but it happened because of trauma to the area and it hasn't fully gone down
