The pool mystery!

Ok I'm risking sounding really stupid here but I use a kiddie pool for my ducks, it's about 8ftx2ft. I usually clean and fill it each night so it's ready to go in the am Sometimes the next day it's empty! Now I'd never really taken much notice of it as it was the summer time and I assumed it had evaporated overnight but it is now starting into the winter, it's about 2ft deep and still happening a couple of nights a week!

Sounds to me like you have a slow leak in it. Have you noticed water pooling around it in certain places? Unless you live in a very dry climate, I can't imagine that volume of water evaporating in one day.

I thought that too but there doesn't seem to be a leak anywhere.... Plus a large animal couldn't get near it to have a drink all very strange!
