We too have coyotes here in WNC and a couple of times this summer a pack of them went thru checking out the neighborhood. I suggest you call your local Game Warden to find out what your legal rights are in regards to shooting them. I would never consider shooting any wildlife at all unless it was in the act of attacking my livestock, but that's just me.
