The Quackerettes Go Wading

OldGuy43 - I am finding your posts, duckling journey and YouTube commentary absolutely inspiring, entertaining and almost like watching a soap opera unfold before my eyes! Thank you

Now, my thoughts today are: just who/what is "imprinting" on your ducklings? You? Mrs OG43 ... your video camera ... or, (heaven forbid!) YouTube!!!

Keep sharing your duckling journey; it's brilliant!

PS: It's Mothering Sunday, here in the UK, this Sunday and I've not asked for flowers (I can grow those!) and I haven't asked for chocolates (I don't eat those); initially, I asked for 2x Indian Runner ducks to add to my Khaki Trio. Since your journey, I've changed my mind and I've asked to be blessed with a teeny weeny 3 (hen)/2 (duck) egg incubator

And if I am duly blessed ... I'm using you as my learning curve

Thank you for all the kind words Mum. I'm not sure that being compared to a soap opera is a compliment, but I'll take that in the spirit that I'm sure you intended.

I'm convinced that some imprinting is taking place what with all the changing of the puppy pads. We've already went through 50 and they're only 6 days old. However, since there are 12 of them I'm betting they're imprinting on each other more than OldGal or myself. That's okay with me.

As for using me as your "learning curve"; I hope you don't think that I know what I'm doing, because I'm just blundering along.

Hope you had a fantastic Mothering Sunday. Fortunately, I've been watching BBC's Edwardian Farm on YouTube (
) and knew what Mothering Sunday was. Here in the colonies we just call it Mothers Day. Did you get a cake?

Yes, you really *are* a learning curve! I'm of the blunder along variety too, but its so lovely to see your experiences and then I can apply them to my own.

Mothering Sunday is this forthcoming Sunday (18th) and I doubt I'll get a cake; I will have a roast dinner cooked for me and I think my boys are planning to cook me a traditional English breakfast ... I don't think I'll be able to move after that
