the real dark eggs

well considering the fat that my two highpowered flashlights cant see thru two of migh very light brown dominique , regular brown hybrid or my ee egg that practicaly white ecept for a slight tint of green i think not for eggs that brown. but i must say that maran eggs are georgous. i hop to see if i can get some eggs later in the year.

With the dark brown eggs, about all I can see is the air space. On a dark green one, I MIGHT be able to see a vein or two near the air space - but that's about it.

That being said, some very cool birds hatch out of dark eggs.... you just have to be patient, and hope they don't explode! (Anyone ever had that happen?)
 
If you're an experienced Marans candler, yes - You can candle them. When I do, even with the 7-8 scale eggs, I see the fetus moving around, the veining, etc.

As for dark green eggs - The same applies. In fact, green eggs I don't see why people have troubles with candling. I also have rarely seen a "dark green" egg, although Olive Eggers are pretty dark, but they're not green per say.
