The Rhodebar thread!

Was it the GFF colored egg contamination that caused folks to abandon their Rhodebars? Or something else?
Mine were not color contaminated. I raised and sold a lot of them, and a few Bielefelders, until I perfected my Welbars. Once I had my Welbars 100% autosexing, they proved to be better layers and much darker eggs than the Rhodebars or Biels. My space and time have limits, and they simply didn't make the cut. I can't speak to why others also abandoned them. I sure there were many different reasons.

I'm one of the few breeders still dedicated to the Rhodebar. I still breed the original import but improved on some faults. It's a shame it died out in the USA when the Legbar got introduced and the Bielefelder.
I wish I had not given up the Rhodebars. I am in PA and am interested in getting them again. I will send you a PM

I started a pair of Rhodebars in 2023. They seem to look different than most pictures I see online. Could you give me your opinion? I love the auto sexing feature and they seem to start laying at about 4 months old from the ones I've hatched out. I will be focusing on them in the future.

Those look like the ones I had years ago, so I believe you have the correct coloring and type.
