So sorry for your drake.
I used Nustock on the pullet that my neighbor's dog got earlier this year. She had internal injuries, but the NS seemed to help a little. I don't know a lot, though, as she only lived until the next day.
I also put NS on one of my chickens (yes, it was the Wyandotte) who got all in a tizzy one day and bloodied up her comb on the hardware wire in the mobile coop. The other chickens pecked at the NS, so I put some rooster booster on her and that covered it up enough that they stopped pecking. I think they were in too close proximity to one another as we don't have a good free ranging option right now. Maybe in the spring...
I'd use NS and maybe the blue kote to cover up the color of the NS if you think there will be pecking. Otherwise, I think the NS is the way to go. My shed now always smells like NS and I'm thinking that maybe NS is how a shed is supposed to smell.
