Yes...that is often the way. I love all the beautiful and cute things that one can buy but in the back of jmy mind I'm thinking, "I'd like to have one but who could pay that price?"...all the while knowing that there are many, many who can and will pay that price. That's what makes the economic world go 'round and 'round.

I'm just a tightwad by nature and by necessity.

LOL, Bee - you and I think a lot alike! Oh, and by the way...

New Blog Post Is UP!!

:gig

You know what's funny about all these mugs and such with the BEE logo?  That Bee would never~ even if she were making slammin' money~ pay the price they ask for them, when she could drink her hot beverages from a dollar store mug or, better yet, a mug she got at a yard sale for $.10.  :gig

Eighteen bucks plus shipping could really buy a poor kid some new shoes for Christmas or even a coat/jacket if you shop in the right places~thus sayeth a former "poor kid".

And even though I'm designing them and putting them out there, I can't afford to buy one for myself - LOL!
But... they are there for the folks that like them. I wish I could give everyone the mug or ornament of their choice for a lot cheaper, but I don't have a way to make them myself, unfortunately.

BDM walmart.com let's you put a pic on mugs and what not. I can't remember the cost, but maybe cheaper than Zazzle?

Excellent photos to illustrate the article, BDM. Are there any other aspects of natural bird health or management that you would like me to address for your blog? I never know what is on people's minds until I see a lot of questions regarding a certain topic pop up and it gets the wheels turning.

Love the Zazzle thingy...gives the page some movement!

Have you ever been on your way to church and look down to say "OMG. I HAVE CHICKEN POOP ON MY GOOD SHOES!!!"
Those girls are Children Miracle Network babies. They were in their own incubators for over a month. They were 2 months early.

They're adorable and love the dresses. I, too, have a miracle baby that was born at 27 weeks - 3 months early - in 1979. She came in at 2 lbs. 7 ozs. and, in 1979, I'd never heard of anyone so early or tiny living. She fooled us all - made it home after 3 months in NICU - and is now the mother of my two grandchildren.

Strong stock, for certain!

Cool! I'll check into that. The nice thing about Zazzle is that people can buy the products right from the site. With most other places that make custom mugs and such, I would have to buy them and then resell them to the folks that wanted them. Unfortunately I can't afford to do that right now :(

Bee - LOL - so many things, but let's take it one thing at a time. How about: What would your advice "bee" for a newbie interested in getting into chicken keeping?

- Urban/Suburban/Rural dwellers
- Breeds to start with (eggs/meat)
- Basic needs/setup
- Free ranging needs
- Newbie mistakes
- What to look for (health-wise) and what not to worry about (for me - I nearly freaked the first time I saw intestinal lining in poop - LOL)

Wow! That's a lot of ground to cover! How about folks who have concerns or questions in those areas ask typical questions so I can get an idea what stressed them the most about the topic. Sort of a topic of the week so that folks can ask questions about them and I can write an article addressing those concerns.

That way we'll have a feel for where the general public are in their chicken efforts and what information they need the most to further those endeavors, in regards to chicken health and how all natural flock management plays into it all.

The breeds you choose are the most basic of information and can go a long way towards determining general flock health and this could be the first pertinent topic, as it's very important to choose the appropriate breed for your needs.

Awesome! Tell me (as a chicken newbie) what I need to know about picking out the right breeds for my needs.

Tell ME why most of you are getting into keeping chickens and I can tell you the right breeds for the needs expressed, in regards to eggs and meat. For ornamental/bantam/game bird breeds that people get as pets or to preserve the breed, I can't really relate to that. All my breed knowledge is based around plain ol' working breeds that produce eggs, eggs and meat or just meat.

Yes... Through the post office and it's much cheaper then that if I remember and really easy to do!!! I think the site is photostamps.com . When my little cousin was born I made stamps for his parents, grandparents for Christmas it was the best present!!!
THanks for the info aaggig! That was a very nice present indeed!
