It looks like Carlton has a good life - he doesn't have to compete with another rooster for his girls. I guess you may just need to look out for him in the winter to make sure he is staying dry enough since he won't tolerate the wet as well as his ladies when it is below freezing.

that's true. If he goes out in the snow - that will be something to see. All my chickens DESPISE the snow. My muscovy didn't like it either.. The Khakis haven't experienced it yet, they are too young

I have 2 barred rock girls that were raised with 3 ducks.
We call them the " ChicDuckens".

The hens hang out in the pouring rain and snow with the ducks as if nothing is any different than usual.

They all sleep huddled up together and are absolutely bonded.

It is fun to watch..
