The Seramacauna

The Seramacauna is meant to be a teeny-tiny chicken that lays blue/green eggs. While the project will be multi-generational, the starting cross will be a bantam ameraucana and a serama. I'm hoping for serama size and body type, but I want it to have a pea comb, lay green eggs, and have a beard and muffs. Color will probably never matter. Lots of breeds would be fun to see in micro size. I don’t think you’d go wrong with blue egger seramas.

It will take a few years to have a good grasp on them and then a few more to refine them but it actually sounds like a doable and interesting project.
I say go for it and stay dedicated.

Why not call them Micro - Ameraucanas?

I would be particularly invested if you could lock in Ameraucana traits and even get some true colors going. That takes a lot more planning and dedication though.

The size of a Serama but the temperament of the Ameraucana would be awesome! Especially for those of us in suburbia that don’t have unlimited space. I say do it!

A cute, fluffy ameraucana face on the tiny, extreme upright posture of a serama body...that would be something to see!
