Asher nodded when Khoe finished speaking and glanced at her for a moment before weaving around another tree. They were nearly at a spot that would be safe enough for them to shift, he glanced at his watch again. Still late. Ash frowned ever so slightly at Khloes question, but answered it in his pleasant smooth tone all the same. "Pretty much, I think it's been just about nine years since my family moved here"

Khloe stepped over a rotten log, and looked around them, into the dense woods, not catching his slight frown, "Where did you used to live?" She felt a pang of envy at the idea of him having a family that he could stay with, but pushed the feeling away, she didn't want to be that kind of person. She glanced up as a bird flew overhead, and thought back to the hawk, the cuts from its attack still stinging.
