~*~The Shifting War - RP (Role Play)~*~

Mark shook his head "We don't want to steal from you." He said then stood up and looked to Ari then back to Ryan "What is the nearest town?" He asked then frowned at Ari when she moved around him to hold out a hand to help Ryan stand

"We are travelling. My brother wants to stop and get a job so we can make some money before we move on." Ari said and smiled at Ryan "He's very protective" She added in a stage whisper then went back to her regular voice "I am Ari, he's Mark. Sorry for my wolf scaring you, she'll stay out of sight for a while." They had learned to speak of the wolf as if it was a separate thing when speaking to humans, a way to explain any sightings without revealing what they were.

"Sunnydale, I live there, it's about a mile that way. I know a shop that needs some work done, I can, um, show you it..." Ryan answered, then tentatively took Mark's hand and got to his feet. He listened to Ari's explanation, and blushed slightly when she smiled at him, but wasn't really convinced, though he wanted to believe her.

"Um, thanks," he replied to her comment about the wolf, then grabbed his brown messenger bag and slipped it onto his shoulder, brushing off the bits of grass and dirt from his gray wool sweater and strait leg jeans, then added, "Um, so are you both staying up here, no hotel or anything?"

((He's wearing the sweater in the pic on his form, just for reference!))

"If I get a job we will stay in a hotel, otherwise we just move on to the next town" Mark said then shrugged "Camping out is normal for us and it saves on what money we do get as we travel."

Ari smiled then moved back to Marks side "If you could show us this shop, we would be grateful."

Ryan nodded and smiled shyly, trying not to meet Ari's eyes, "If you two follow me, I'll take you to town, it's a bit of a hike, but I know the way well." He said, then stared walking, looking back over his shoulder to check that they were coming.

He was still having trouble processing the strangeness of the situation, one moment, he had been sure that he was going to be mauled, mugged, and left for dead. But now, here he was leading two complete strangers, who had been asking some weird questions and had a wolf, back to the town where he lived. The path, if you could call it that, was rocky and slopped, with a lot of trees. Ryan jumped half way down a particularly steep part with loose rocks, and held out his hand to Ari to help her down the tricky spot.

If you were to judge him by his personality and well put together appearance, you wouldn't guess that he was athletic and outdoorsy, but that was the case. The woods and mountains were where he belonged, a place where he wouldn't be disturb. Well, until now, that is...

"We have crossed through several states, looking for...cousins of ours" Ari said then the twins followed him. Ari smiled at his kind gesture and took his hand through she didn't need the help over the rocks. "Thank you"

Mark stayed quiet, listening and watching for any trouble as they moved. He glanced to Ari at the near slip then went down the loose rocks, pausing at the bottom to look at Ryan

Ryan nodded and smiled slightly in acceptance of her thanks, then met Mark's gaze, and looked away quickly, continuing past them on the path. "So, um, cousins, if you know their names, I could look them up in public records for you, I don't have to be anywhere until 9:00am," He offered, then awkwardly added, "I'm taking classes at the local collage..."

"Do you know of Finnegan Doherty?" Ari asked softly. she looked down the path they still had to go down then pulled her hair bak and secured it into a quick ponytail before looking to Ryan again

"No, sorry, I'll try to help you find him, though, when we get to town, I'll take you to the shop then go do some research. Is that alright?" He replied in a equally soft tone, then looked to Mark, paused, then asked, "May I ask, what type of work you do, or are willing to do? The shop is hardware, outdoor equipment, kind of place, but they also are close to the river, so rent out boating stuff, and offer guided hikes."

They were nearing the town, and he could just hear the early morning sounds the people headed to work and school.

Mark nodded after listening to Ryan "I can do any of that, though I doubt they would let a stranger take anyone out on a hike. Not for the time we will be here anyway." He planned to meet up with the man his father had talked about that was trying to teach the True how to use their gifts and talk to him before moving on. The cover story of being cousins was just that, a cover story.

"Yeah, probably not. Though, I met their newest employee, a few days ago, he might put in a good word for you," Ryan said, stopping and pulling some whip-like branches to the side so they could pass, then continued talking, "That way you don't get one of the jobs they give kids in the summer, they are very low paying." This much conversation was unusual for Ryan, being that he kept to himself, and was too shy to say much even when he was around others. But just like with the wolf, they both had something familiar about them, and he felt at ease, kinda like that new employee at the shop, Zackary, as his name...
