I think we've got 3 Mille Fleurs D'uccles and 3 Porcelain D'uccles in the new crew. Trying to do my best to guesstimate as I'm still so new to chick identification, especially with Bantams.

Hubby really wanted Silkies, so I'm testing to see how Ideal works out. Oops. I'm still technically counting them as his purchase because y'know, the original Bantams were his. That's sound chicken math, right?

The Bantams LOVE playing King of the Hill. There’s a little “outcrop” in the brooder where they have learned to hop up on and take turns knocking or pulling each other off. It scared the daylights out of me at first because they’re SO tiny, but they keep running back for more.

All 12 are still alive and VERY well. Only one chick has had pasty butt so far and it was incredibly minor. It hasn’t cropped back up since!

Hmm. My order from Ideal set to hatch/ship today apparently shipped last night at 4:30 pm? And says it won’t arrive until Saturday. I’ve learned to not trust arrival dates but hmmm. Anxious!

My Ideal order that shipped on a Wed had an arrival date of Sat on expected delivery. It arrived late Thur night and I picked up at 6am Fri. All chicks were alive & well! I was petrified…shipping wasn’t updated the whole time and I called 3 hubs and no one could locate them, until they called me at 6am
ETA: they told me the Texas hub is AWFUL about scanning items. Also, a lot of times you’ll get notification that they ship when the label is created, not when they actually ship. The label will be printed in the evening, box stuffed early morning and dropped off at usps right away after that.

Who knows? The best tracking info I’ve had has been from McMurray (it was almost exact both times). Mt Healthy sends me notification that they shipped and the chicks arrived the next morning (I think the notification went out late lol), and Ideal always shows a super late arrival but they show up a day or two earlier, giving me a heart attack each time! Weirdly, they don’t all get delivered through the same postal hub, which I think accounts for some of the variability. Where in NY are you? Most of mine come into Syracuse, but Ideal comes into Oneonta which I thought was a very random place to go through.
