hi everyone been awhile since i posted but i was wondering what everyone feed there show silkies i have heard feed laying mash but just add calf manna also feed game bird but what game bird feed the starter or the breeder im just asking what would be the best diet for silkies that are gina be shown in a couple months would prefer things u can buy in 1 bag at the feed store not by one thing here one thing there and so on and so on and not preferably have to mix everyday i know sounds greedy but would like to keep feed simple

Read the labels. That is the best you can do--know the ingredients & the percentages of things like protein. The better and fresher the quality of the feed, the less it will need supplementing. Calf Manna is a good supplement as it provides a wide range of nutrients and micronutrients.

I just bought a 5 pound bag of Gamebird/Showbird fee by Manna Pro at FleetFarm for $4 and some cents for a rooster that seemed a bit thin to me. This seems like some good feed. I can smell hte same smell as the Manna that I have gotten before so there must be some added in it. Also, a small amount of whole grains is always good for chickens too it gives them extra phytonutrients that sometimes are lacking in prepared feed. Sunflower seeds, wheat, oats, etc but no corn. :)
