North's ears flicked around as if something was lodged in them when he heard some noise in the distance. "Sagemint," he muttered, "they should shut up."

"What's going on over there?" River wondered aloud, hearing the barks and yips get louder.

"It's some stupid Sagemint 'ceremony'," North replied.
 
(North :p Weed gets a mate in the GDW manga, I was going to bring someone like her in soon to stay with the story line a little bit.)

North followed her, then heard a stream rushing nearby. He headed over and began to fish.
 
North caught a fish, and thought about bringing it over to her, but knew that she was probably focused on her hunt and stayed back.
 
"I have no-" Weed tried to reply when a dog suddenly lunged for them from the shadows, grabbing Weed by his leg. "It's Sagemint! Get out of here while you still can, Bernard!"

A dark figure chuckled in the shadows. "Neither of you are going anywhere."
