Yeah, he's had a red comb since 2.5 weeks lol. I guess 1 out of 8 isn't bad though, I wish I would have picked up more SLW's, he's my only one and fortunately can't stay.

no one out of eight isn't bad at all compared to me out of the three checks I had I had 2 Cockrells it was very evident sooner but at four weeks I was certain that they were male. I purchased two silver laced Wyandotte chicks and gradually integrated them with my remaining golden laced Wyandotte chick that was four weeks old at the time. I used a chickenwire divider in between for a couple weeks until they got used to each other and the integration was a very smothe. Just an idea to consider.Yeah, he's had a red comb since 2.5 weeks lol. I guess 1 out of 8 isn't bad though, I wish I would have picked up more SLW's, he's my only one and fortunately can't stay.
Here are my 2 SLW at 9 weeks here in central Florida. They are hatchery chicks from the farm store. They were nearly all black when they first started feathering out., but seem to be getting more color every day. I'm assuming they are pullets since their combs and waddles look the same as they did when they were a week old. At least I hope they are girlies!![]()
Beautiful girls! From everything I see it all points to them being pullets.
