I'll have to pay attention more this year. Last year a didn't see much difference but we'll see what happens with this years hatch.

Usually the ones with a darker face with more lines are pullets.

I picked up 3 one-weekers last nite from my feed store! after reading all the way through this thread i am excited to see how they turn out. The store gets 90% of their chicks from IDEAL so i know im starting with some hatchery stock but still excited none-the-less!

Look forward to posting some pics and swapping stories in the future! beautiful chickens everyone!

Unforunately not at the moment. During the week is busy with the family in the evening times so havent been able to snap any, but will definately have some this weekend. I want to get some pics up so i can verify age...when i got them they said they were about a week and ahalf old...so this weekend should put them at about 2 weeks, they just seem younger than that. So yeah! Will def be asking for some input

I have three slw at a few days old. They are cute but very noisy at times. I would reccomend them to anyone at this point

Can someone post a pic of a hen newly starting to lay? I am unfamiliar with this comb type and want to know what to look for with my girls. They're 17weeks old now. Thanks!
