The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

Pics
I collected a bunch of feathers from two of my SLW's today for my future project.

The first picture is feathers from one of my first hens which is a hatchery girl. What I find most interesting is her back feathers show signs of penciling not just random mossy or dirty feathers. Over all her feathers are just nice to look at and quite far from the SOP.

The second is from a pullet I hatched last year. Over all her feathers a MUCH better then my big old hatchery hens feathers. Her feathers aren't perfect but are very nice. I still need to look at the preferred proper neck feather coloration.

I love seeing all the pictures of your SLW- they are all beautiful!! We added a SLW bantam to round out our bantam coop. Cluckington Abbey is officially full at the moment. I was told Lady Sybil is in fact a LADY, but when she was in isolation before joining the others, I could have sworn she had started crowing in the morning the last couple days of her stay indoors. I've heard hens CAN crow, so hoping she is a SHE and she was just um, just being vocal. Lady Sybil- she's about 16-18 wks in these picture I love this picture

I got her...or HIM rather, at a small farm here in my town here in NH, who breeds chickens. This was one of the bantams she hatched.
