My girls are laying at 21 weeks, hooray! They were hatched from shipped eggs from Watson Ridge Ranch, and they (and a cockerel, too....Pecorino), sure are pretty.

Congrats everyone on first eggs. We are first time chickeners, went from 0 eggs in May, to 11 in June, to 95 in July. Our chickens were hatched Feb 27th, 5 of our 7 girls are laying.

Congrats to all those who have been getting eggs recently!!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all those who helped me figure out if Lady Sybil was indeed a Lady or in fact a Lord! Thanks to you all it was found out Lord Grantham (formarly known as Lady Sybil) was INDEED a Lord and only another week proved that as he started crowing and pinning his favorite ladies

The farm where I got him were happy to take him back- they were a little shocked at his new title as I was. I think all will work out though, as they have been looking for a sweet, calm roo as the new "man in town" for the ladies as their other roo's are on the aggressive side and Lord Grantham is calm, sweet & loves to fall asleep when held lol. Hopefully his demeanor won't change too much as he gets older.

Anyway, thought I would just update on him & thank you for helping me- tricky one that Lord Grantham

Don't forget to watch Larry the Cable Guy...."Only in America" tonight. He is going to visit Cackle's Hatchery. Should be fun.
