Ah soo cute I take I the chick survived

She's still hanging in there, but she's not doing so well. I've been giving her sugar water from a dropper every couple of hours. I wonder if I am just prolonging the inevitable.

I'm right there with you. Love my slw and plan on getting other varieties. One of each! Lol. Problem is there are others that I want too. Like welsummer, a cream legbar, some other varieties of rocks, an ameraucana, an easter egger..... and I'm full up with my BR, BA, BBS English opr, SLW, and my gold sex link.

I had a friesian chick that I thought would die because the left side of its body had no muscle growth so she couldn't use her leg and the other chicks use to tread on her but now look at her she just kept improving and now she rushes around my fields and flys onto my shed roofs with her sis

Question: Does the amount of white on a chick correlate with the quality of lacing when they are adults? Just wondering because some of my chicks have a lot of white, and some are almost completely black with only faint brownish stripes on their backs.

Well the amount of white on their heads determines the gender, so a chick with loads of white on its head is a roo and a chick with not very much white on its head means its a hen

But nick that hasn't worked at all with any of the wyandottes we have hatched this year mine had a nearly all white and that USA. Pulet and your two that turned out to be Roos were supposed to be pullets by head colouring

the reason I thought mine were pullets were because I didn't have a any pulley chicks to compare too, but once I got my pullet and compared the three their was a big difference

That head is definitely not white enough
