#2 is the only one I'm not sure of, but that could just be the angle of the pic.at 7 weeks you should have a good set of wattles and any Roos will be darker around the collar.

The first two pic's are the same chick with the right leg yellow zip. The third pic is a different chick with a neon green zip right leg. I have five chicks but these are the only two I think for sure are female. They are very hard to get a still pic of them when they are out and about. They are in a silkie grow out pen because they were two weeks behind and after keeping them separate for a time, they integrated well. In fact I'm surprised at how well. These SLW hatchery chicks are very smart and not only get along with the whole lot but fly in and out of the grow out pen at will but always manage to get back in with the mob at coop up time. They are impressive in their smartness. I doubt they will even come close to the beauty of FancyChooklady's laced darling's but I surely want those Silver Laced gene's to play with. One of the five chicks I bought has a single comb. It didn't matter at the time I bought them because I will use it in a silver project silkie pen. But at our feed store you are not allowed to touch the chicks and it was put in the box with the others. These are the first outside chickens I've bought in three years. *ugh* Good thing I like them so much.Wait I think that's 3 pictures of the same chick is that right @MumsyIII ? If it's all the same chick she's definitely a pullet. I thought it was 3 different chicks. I just posted a video of my 8.5 week old SLW Roo crowing. I am 99% sure you would know by now if she weren't a she.
Ah I see now. I couldn't tell between the yellow and green color. They are definitely pullets. Mine are hatchery quality too but still love them. I don't like how they don't let you pick out the ones you want. Especially at the big box stores like TSC.The first two pic's are the same chick with the right leg yellow zip. The animal kingdom is truly amazing. They seem to know when a human needs special consideration. Your little boy will benefit from his interaction with animals. My 10 year old autistic son feeding one of my roos ... I think this is Jack-Jack, but I don't have my glasses on! He won't eat treats from me! My new rooster from Jerry Foley. My older son named him KFR (Kentucky Fried Rooster), because he shipped from Kentucky and it got very hot the day he arrived. Now he is "Kiefer."

A hatchery juvie
Some of my juvies: you can see a SLW tucked in there. Three gold pencilled Hamburgs, a SLW cross (the blue one ... Blue Copper Marans is the mom), and a bunch of salmon Faverolles.
Waffle, my Foley line hen, with her batch of surrogate babies. She brooded a clutch of bantam black Wyandotte eggs for me. She is a great momma, but I really want to put her in the breeding pen with Kiefer (KFR). Jack-Jack is in the background.
