Everyone knows of the sinking of the ocean liner on April 15th, 1912. A little known fact is that, after stopping in New York the ship was scheduled to make a stop in Mexico before returning to Southampton.. At that time the people of Mexico had developed a taste for mayonnaise, and part of the cargo she was carrying was a consignment of that yummy concoction destined for Mexico. In the year of 1912 communications were not as fast as today and it wasn't until May 5th that the people of Mexico got the bad news.
