Stocking cap when it's merely cold, earflap cap when it's frigid.

We learned the hard way that wearing a red hat out into the yard gets us violently attacked by the dominant roo. Take the hat off and he walks away ignoring us as usual.

Mine are terrified of long objects such as rakes, hockey sticks, shovels, or any other thing I may need in the yard. I could wear anything out there. If I walked out wearing one of those fruit filled hats, they probably wouldn't even blink. If I walked outside to rake, I'm public enemy number 1.
