the smell in our yard

DE or a product called Stall Dry sprinkled around where ground gets most poo build up. Also try to control how much the area gets water. Cover your chicken run and try to divert water from running into the area. Don't let spilled food sit on the ground and spoil.

There should be very little odor around your coop. Do you clean up poop everyday? Do you have a lot of chickens in a small space? It has been very rainy- that can sometimes make the smell worse-but you should look at your area carefully. I have 24 chickens and no smell in my yard. The coop smells a little "barn" like on a very wet day- but never outside....Do you have dry shavings in the coop? A dropping board under the roost? Something is not right if you really have a bad odor...
