The SO got his hog house (chicken house?) delivered today.

Dawn, count yourself lucky that y'alls harley is outside altogether. Before he moved the storage building up here to the farm the bike sat on the screened porch under it's cover. Not on the right side of the porch, or the left side, but directly in line with the front door. :thun
Oh and then there was the time when I needed to confine our barn cat somewhere after she sprained a leg. Couldn't have her AND the bike on the porch...harley leather and claws don't mix. One of the two had to be in the house. Ever had a harley in your living room before???

My old redneck SO? I don't think so.
But thanks for the idea on the bandanas. He already thinks I'm crazy with some of my ideas about chickens, why stop now right?

Kat,

I haven't had a Harley in the living room (yet) but have visited friends who had their bikes inside, before. We "should" be able to avoid it since the guy we bought ours from has told us we could bring her to his shop to work on.

Besides, Skip is also an Orchid junkie...there are too many of them taking up room to add the Harley. It would have to be one or the other and I don't think he could decide between the two.

Oh yeah, the carpet was white when we moved in.

gritsar,

rotflmao!!! dawn and i met some chicken friends for a swap in cookville today (a hub town just off i40 and 20 min n of us). the other cool thing about cook vegas (as we call it) is that there is a huge lot with about 50 or so menonite barns on display. so many choices!!!! long story short....we found our hog barn today! it will also double as my wood shop, barely enough room for wood tools and our scooter, but the boss lady understands. she loves the "iron seahorse" as much as i do. i ride every day (down to 20 deg. i have heated gloves and killer layers) dawn only gets sundays (due to my crazy hours at work) and she guards her sundays like a broody hen guards her nest. we'll wait till mid summer to get our hog barn, gotta pay off the truck before we add the hog barn to our monthlys, by that time i'm sure that we'll talk ourselves into a larger model, as that's our modus operendi. shop it small and buy it as big as the budget can afford!!! we love this forum, and always enjoy finding others that are equally as enamoured with their scooters as they are with their live stock!

live to ride and ride to live,

doc

Note to Dawn, He only SAYS it's will house the hog AND his tools...you wait, before too long it'll be "gotta have a seperate building for the tools"....heaven forbid a chisel should fall and land on the hog!

Doc, the SO's hog is bedded down for winter already. We're old and cold cold air and old bones don't mix! He keeps talking about getting me a hog on my own, but the truth is I love being on the back of his. That way all I gotta do is sit back and enjoy the ride. As much as I joke about the bike being his #1 love and me being #2, I understand the specialness of it to him. He wanted one all his life, but could never afford it with a growing family. He finally broke down and accepted his as a gift from his mama (with lots of badgering from me and her to accept it). A few months later his mama lost her fight with cancer. So yeah, it's pretty special.
