The Society of Truth, an RP

"Look," Calder said, spreading his palms out, facing up, "Let's get to the point. Friendly-not-friends won't satisfy me or you, friends won't satisfy you, what do you want to do about it? And secondly, what can I do to change your mind? And - well, what will get us anywhere?"
“Excuse me? Calder it’s a crush not a summer romance, I’m pretty sure friends will satisfy me” she was lying of course “nothing. Nothing will change my mind.” She avoided his eyes, if she looked at him now she’d start to cry and she didn’t want that.

Calder clenched his fists, but when he spoke, his voice was sad, not angry. "Y'know, I'm disappointed that you aren't giving me a chance. And that you're not giving yourself a chance. At happiness. Because you deserve it. You know that?"

“Give you a chance to do what?” She turned to look him dead in the eye, “I gave myself plenty of chances but I’m always going to be that damsel in distress.” She frowned “I’m going to go help Alina downstairs, as far as she’s concerned this never happened” she whispered looking at him urgently

"For goodness' sakes!" Calder exploded.

She stared at him, she had never seen Calder explode before, “what?!” She spun around anger flickering in her blue eyes
Calder calmed himself. "Neither of us are in any mood to talk right now," he admitted, standing. He then walked up to her and took both her hands. His was big enough that he only needed one to fit hers in.
"I'm not asking you to do this, but if you want to talk again, when you're ready, Tara, Alina can contact me. Until then-" he said with a knowing smile.

She nodded her head slowly “and if I do want to talk?” She asked “then I tell Alina to contact you?”

“Okay”’she agreed pulling out her tiny phone “what are the numbers?”
(I really haven't a clue.)

Calder gave her his number quietly. "I'll be going. Don't expect to see me much again unless you plan on having some sort of conversation. I know how awkward this must be for you."
