Luce nodded. "I say stay together too..." She frowned as she looked down at the building roof. She wished she could have helped someone get out. She had panicked when she saw the guards and fled through the hole. She almost forgot to flapped her wings, feeling guilty about not helping someone escape, and struggled to regain her balance.
Alexis looked to Luce and smiled softly, then looked back to Stormdancer "Where are we going to go?"
Stormdancer paused, looking down at the landscape below. Icy mountains, with forbidding peaks high above the clouds, and ancient pine trees, taller than the stories-tall building she had just burst through.
For half a moment, she was undecided. She knew it was mean, but she just wasn't sure if she could do this. She didn't know if she could haul a freak show of mutant teens, including herself~ maybe herself even more so, considering she had just had some kind of freak-o transformation~ around a mountain. But then, what if they needed her? She couldn't strand them here, to die from cold, or be caught by bears, wolves~
like myself~ or the scientists.
She squared her shoulders. "First, we move. We must flee from the scientists, go somewhere they can't find us. We'll make base camp, find food, and survive for a while. Then, when they're least expecting it, we'll break back in and steal back the other kids. Then, we'll pay a visit to the government. This can't be legal. What they did here? IT'S NOT OKAY!" she said.
"So we're splitting up to find a spot to stay hidden?" Chelsea piped in.
Stormdancer looked up. Dark clouds roiled above, threatening snow. "No. We stay together. I will fly point. Firebird..."
Stormdancer stared at Firebird. She had no idea how she hadn't noticed that Firebird was... uh... on fire. "Um." Stormdancer stuttered.
Firebird looked down at her flaming arms and torso, then looked up at Stormdancer and shrugged helplessly. "It doesn't hurt?" She offered as an explanation.
"Well, Firebird can fly above and in the middle. At least she'll keep us warm." She said. Firebird nodded, blushing a little. "How is your shirt not burning off?" The Energizer Bunny asked Firebird, cocking her head inquisitively. "I have no idea." Firebird responded, shaking her head.
Stormdancer rolled her eyes, and turned to the other girls. "Alexis, Chelsea, fly to my right and left, You two probably have the strongest eyesight. Luce, fly below and keep an ear out for anyone following us, you probably have stronger ears than many of us."
Stormdancer nodded to the group, the turned tail (literally) and started to fly away from the lab. Chelsea took up a position on her left and slightly behind, and Firebird flew above Stormdancer, her bright red, flaming wings lighting the way through the oncoming storm.
