The Stealth Hatch, or the marital fiasco.....

chickensducks&agoose :

husband vetoed my hatching plan.

But, with a little bit of convincing (brownies and whatnot), he has agreed to help me build an incubator... though he says that there is no way that I need any more chickens. So a loss and a win...

I am confused. Why would he help build an incubator he doesn't plan to let you use?

he's a man.... plus i think he knows me well enough to know that i am going to hatch chicks... and maybe he thinks he can delay me a bit... and he can... the idea of having a better bator than the minidome bator is very, very interesting... I'll wait a week if it means a better chance of my eggs hatching...

yup..it'd be the day!.... *snort* how can you say he wont let you?(your talking about a husband right..and not a father??...or did i read the thread wrong?) just do it if you want to so badly.... whats the worst he will do?

My husband is in the military, and would really like to run a military household. I voted for obama, and am more liberal than you can imagine... It makes for an interesting match. I'm a stay at home mom, with my 2 daughters, and my son is in school. If I do anything that he doesn't like, there is a lot of noise, and it just makes things at home hard... so we tend towards a 50's style marriage, with him calling the shots and me doing what I can, when I can.... It works for us... except when I want to feed my chicken addiction....

Hehe just do it,I mean the kids did get it for christmas why not use it...
Also my hubby use to be that bad,now I just shrug at him and do it anyway. He can grip and complian all he wants, but having a few chickens makes me happy.
And you can allways sell the extra....
Or you can say dont you love me hunny??? ahahahahah

My husband was career military too. 21 years Navy. He thought our home should be run like the military. I had a different idea. Although I love his straightforwardness and I love him immensely, I'm a fiery Irish lass. LOL

We have reached a happy medium.

He wanted to put the chickens off for a while but now that someone dumped Ricky Rooster off on our property, he MUST have lady friends and my husband begrudgingly agreed.

Psssst....I usually get my way by making him believe it was his idea. LOL!!

i thought i was the only one who did the whole making him think it was his idea thing!

but seriously..i would really try and get some sort of marriage counseling because if a man has you asking how to hide a project that you want to do out of fear of him getting mad..there is something wrong.
