I had my beautiful girls ever since 5 years ago and they are the sweetest floofies ever. Every morning when I go outside they would follow me all around and start pecking me until I give them cuddles. I would be sitting down and both of them jump on my lap the moment I sit down and we falll asleep together and take a nap in the afternoon. They even know their names and when I call them they would run towards me. Seriously the cutest. They’ve always been with me no matter what and I love them so much. Chestnut is such a sassy girl she loves to boss around buttercup and get all the attention but buttercup still gets lots of love! Buttercup is often mistaken as a rooster because of her large comb but she looks absolutely stunning. Share some of your stories with your chickens!

Beautiful chickens. Have you considered getting a few more for your pair??
I only keep chickens as pets, and hens only. (no roosters allowed in my area), I do eat the eggs. All my chickens live long lives. My oldest one pulled 13 years. Right now I have all bantams.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome

WOW 13 years??! I really hope mine live that long. I’m worried the age they say is 5-10. I don’t have a lot of space as they live in a backyard so I don’t want to overcrowd them. I had another one but she was smaller and different breed but then she was sick and passed away.

Are they Delawares? I have two Delaware hens that are a year and a half old. We got them as little chicks and they’ve been so wonderful. Mines names are Willow and Tinkie. Tinkie was always the most outgoing and friendly. I was sure she was going to be a rooster but I was wrong! By the end of the first day we brought them home she was already watching for me to walk by the brooder and would stretch her neck up as far as she could to see me. Then she started running to my hand when I’d put it down in there with them and eventually learned to flutter up to me. Such a sweet girl. We cuddled on the couch all the time while they were still little and inside. She taught her three “sisters” to be friendly and cuddly too as chicks. Tinkie and Willow are flock leaders now (13 total ladies) and the two of them have shown all my other chickens how nice mom can be and how good cuddles are, so now I have 6 big fluff butts that jump on me the second I sit down and fight over who gets to lay closest to my face 😂
