Today, we completed our flock. Looking forward to watching these girls grow up. Hopefully no gentlemen in the mix but oh well if there are.

Im pretty sure they are Bantam. I actually am not 100% positive because we were in a rush at the breeder when selecting them. I think she said they were. I'll have to call to confirm!

Just sharing my accomplishment. Might seem silly to some but having never built a chicken coop before (or anything else for that matter) and being nervous to take on the challenge of building my very first gate, I'd like to think this is pretty successful. I'm likely going to add cross members from one corner to the other to aid in stability. I was also concerned about using scrap wood as I worried I didn't have pieces that would be similar enough for it to be functional. But it turned out much better than I thought. Everything lines up and works great! YAY!
